I have four categories for organizing my thoughts on this season's runways:
PANTS, PANTS, PANTS
Fresh Hemlines
Cool White Suits
and...
Just Lovely

I'll start with Just Lovely.
These first five looks are from London's Fashion Week.
Sass&Bide.
Sass&Bide is TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL. AND! Dare I say it?................

My favorite collection of Spring 2011 RTW.
(Disclaimer: I'm allowed to change my mind.)

These next three Sass&Bide looks also fall under PANTS, PANTS, PANTS

RODARTE.
There was a lot of buzz around this collection, stated to be the most 'wearable/commercial' collection the two sisters have ever presented to the fashion world. You may look at the piece below and chuckle to think that this is wearable. But take a look at a few of their earlier collections and you'll agree.
The below piece is one of my favorite from this entire season.

J. Mendel. So beautiful. Wedding dress options?

PANTS, PANTS, PANTS
3.1 Phillip Lim

Fresh Hemlines: I know this is a common thread throughout a lot of my posts lately, but I really have been eager to see if the designers would present wearable long looks. And I have been excited with what they've given us.

Proenza Schouler: vibrant.

Vivienne Tam.

I know I haven't posted about all of the categories, but I may...eventually.

Convincing Hemlines?

So I have been reading about, eagerly awaiting these so-called dropping hemlines for the past year or more in the magazines; however, I have yet to be firmly convinced that this is going to catch on. The problem is that it's difficult for young women to find dresses or skirts which fall at or below the knee and even down to the mid calf or even floor length that don't look like a 70 yr-old librarian's. 70 yr-old librarians can be very elegant, mind you; yet, a 20 yr-old girl would like to look approximately her own age. Otherwise, the longer looks are just too over-the-top-I -could-never-wear-that-to-class/work.

This season though..................the verdict is in for me.

I'M SEEING A LOT OF CONVINCING LONGER LOOKS.
